Let’s talk about Mobile Showers

Dear Friends,

We all know how a good shower can leave you feeling like a new person. However, this refreshment has been all but impossible to find for many of our neighbors. In response to this problem, Cultivate Initiatives restores dignity, health, and hygiene through our Mobile Shower and Hygiene Response. 

How we do it

With two mobile hygiene stations (also known as our shower trucks), Cultivate Initiatives provides free showers and laundry services, clean clothing, and personal hygiene products at sites throughout East Portland. These services are trusted and informed by our unhoused neighbors, as this team is staffed entirely by people with lived experience of houselessness and other barriers to employment.

What’s the impact?

Being unhoused makes it difficult to care for personal health & hygiene needs. By providing consistent support, this program restores dignity and meets vital needs. As this is part of our Community Health Initiative, we recognize that hygiene and health are inherently connected.
