Unlocking potential through Workforce Development

Dear Friends,

The mission of our Workforce Development initiative is to connect houseless neighbors with development opportunities and local jobs at a dignified wage. Many of our neighbors experiencing houselessness are highly skilled, so we provide the necessary support and additional training to help them find employment.

This week, a news feature on FOX12 KPTV, showed the impact our Intern Program is having amongst the unhoused community who are looking for a pathway to employment. If you are an employer interested in building a meaningful relationship with us and would like more information, please reach out to info@cultivatepdx.org

Property Stewardship & Maintenance

Our Property Stewardship & Development team provides landscaping and other contracted services such as debris and graffiti removal for local businesses, organizations, and municipalities.

We work to enhance property safety and aesthetics and beautify outdoor spaces to create welcoming environments. We can offer tailored solutions to meet your property’s specific needs.

“The City of Wood Village has been working with Cultivate Initiatives for a few years and we truly appreciate their mission of restoring people and places. Their team have stepped up in times of workforce shortages, providing services when others have been unable. Through this partnership, we have created a more beautiful city, and helped people start a new chapter. While we could have contracted this work to a private company, going through Cultivate enriched the lives of many, instead of just one.”

Greg Dirks, Wood Village City Manager

Classes, New Skills, & Graduations

We love seeing people grow in confidence in preparation for employment. We offer Employment Retention assistance to help people capitalize on their momentum for lasting change. We have recently partnered with Goodwill Job Connections and Level Up Management LLC to help support people’s job searches with structured wrap around services.

These free partnered classes run onsite at our Workforce Hub every other week to help develop soft skills like resume building, communication and interview preparation. We love celebrating graduations and helping neighbors find their employment pathway!

Thank you to Goodwill and LevelUp Management LLC for our ongoing partnerships, to Metro and the Joint Office of Homeless Services for putting these funds to use for employment services, and for the voters for passing and supporting the Supportive Housing Services measure.
