Warmth in the Storm
Dear Friends,
Amidst the freezing temperatures and dangerous ice everywhere, our community came together to provide life-saving shelter for our neighbors most in need. We are so grateful for the way our team, other organizations, Multnomah County, and volunteers came together to provide this resource.
2024 marks three years of Cultivate Initiatives operating warming shelters. During that time, we have consistently seen both immediate and long-term impacts. Watch our Mobile Shower and Hygiene Lead, Jerry talk on KGW about this impact as someone who has experienced the need first-hand.
Thank you to our friends and partners who supported us by bringing meals, drinks, and encouragement. We look forward to inviting more volunteers into this work by offering severe weather shelter training sessions in 2024. Stay tuned!
Relationships & Action
Last December, it was our privilege to partner with Workplace Change and their founder and CEO, Serilda Summers, to make a life-changing impact for and with one of our team members through a transformational dental procedure. Serilda first met this team member and learned of her dental needs at a dinner series hosted by the local non-profit organization HereTogether. Serilda realized that she could meet this need and, along with her team, she took action to make a difference. Hear more about our valued partnership and the work we do together by watching this interview below:
You made our year!
Lastly, our team wishes to express our appreciation for all the support we have received this year and throughout the entire Give Guide campaign! Your donations helped us surpass our goals TWICE.
Thanks to your generous support, our end-of-year Give!Guide campaign raised a total of $25,738!
We also would like to thank our wonderful nonprofit and business partners who supported us throughout the campaign. We love that you are a part of our community and are helping empower our unhoused neighbors:
